2 Heart Cutscene

Has anyone else encounted the dialogue with Maru that after the 2 Heart event, she says, "Thanks for helping out in the lab"? I want to put it in the wiki but I'm not sure if it is a one off or something directly connected to the event. I was left outside after the cutscene as well so that also may be a point to considor. From the game code Event.cs::endBehaviors() it looks like like Demetrius always says "Maybe I was being a little presumptuous earlier... sorry." and Maru always says "Thanks for helping out in the lab." after the 2-heart event, but not until the next time you talk to them. These dialogs don't seem to trigger if you skip the cutscene. Go ahead and add it :) margotbean (talk) 05:33, 29 January 2017 (UTC)

Update -- after some testing, it appears these two dialogs disappear if you don't trigger them the same day as the 2-heart event. Add as many or as few details as you want to the page.  ;) margotbean (talk) 05:42, 29 January 2017 (UTC)

2 Heart Cutscene Friendship Modifiers

The +10 and -100 possible modifiers from the dialogue choice actually modify the player's friendship with Demetrius rather than with Maru. I don't know how to edit that in because of the templates involved. - MouseyPounds (talk) 05:32, 16 September 2017 (BST)

Friendship with Harvey?

A recent change just added Maru and Harvey as each others' friends. But is that really CA's intent? Yes, they're civil, amiable even, but I've never had the sense that they considered each other equals. In a cutscene where Maru breaks a container of samples, she is concerned about what Harvey's reaction will be. It's clear there that he is her boss, she is the employee, and there's a clear line of authority exercised between them. That's not exactly friendship; Maru is subordinate. It's a different relationship, even when Harvey proves to be amiable and reassuring.

So, just what are the events where they participate as friends? Sitting on a bench together? Doing some non-work activity together? Just hanging out? That's what I'd expect of friends. Butterbur (talk) 22:18, 9 February 2018 (UTC)

I tend to agree, Harvey is more of a "creepy" friend than an actual friend, it seems to me. But others might rush to Harvey's defense, saying he's not creepy, just socially inept and shy.

If it were up to me, I might delete the field from the infobox entirely, since I don't see its usefulness. I think originally it was added because there is a field in underlying data files specifying who would dance with whom at the Flower Dance by default, and the code refers to it as "friend". But that was before I joined the wiki.

I suppose it's debatable whether or not they're actually friends. The usefulness of the field itself is also debatable. margotbean (talk) 12:37, 11 February 2018 (UTC)

Maru's outfit in social status menu

It says that her outfit will change when she's at work but on 2 different days I've confirmed she is at work but in the social status menu it still has her normal outfit. Her outfit does change for the talk screen and on the walking around screen (not really sure what to call that) but it's definitely not changing for me on pc for the social status menu. Is anyone else getting the same results?Ewolfg1 (talk) 17:42, 14 December 2018 (UTC)

12 Heart Cutscene?

My character was out late and there was a cutscene with Maru and a telescope and she wanted to show me some stuff and there was a question about what I saw, there were two choices, one was something about a beautiful planet and the other was a void (?). Popsy (talk) 05:08, 20 September 2020 (UTC)

That's Maru's 6-heart event. Heart events can occur out of order, and sometimes even after marriage, as long as the conditions to trigger them are met. margotbean (talk) 15:41, 20 September 2020 (UTC)
